Explore the Prehistoric Wonder of Devil's Den Spring
Dive into the captivating world of Devil's Den Prehistoric Spring, one of Florida's premier scuba diving destinations. This underground spring is hidden within a 120-foot wide cave. Like all Florida springs, it maintains a constant 72-degree water temperature year-round, making it a true oasis for water enthusiasts.
Discover the rich history of natural Florida along the walls of the cave, where many ancient fossils dating back to the Pleistocene Age have been unearthed.
I was first introduced to Blue Grotto with the Middle Tennessee State University SCUBA program back in 1994. Several day and night dives were hosted there for the winter trip (semester ending in December). With dives during the day and waiting for the night dive, this is the location the cookout was held during the trip. For those that don’t know, there are 3 things you do on a dive trip:
Dive (of course)
Eat
Sleep
Repeat over several days.
Since we have taken students there over the years, the pictures here are from various years.
There is a little game that's played with this little guy. IF you see it while diving, document it for evidence (otherwise no one will believe you) and then move it to another location within the den for other divers to find.
