The Gateway Island is an ideal venue for picnics, wedding ceremonies and receptions, photography sessions, birthday parties, and other celebrations. The Gateway Island Trail, part of the Murfreesboro Greenway System, provides a well-lit route for walkers and runners and is frequently used by organizations for charity walks and races.

This is a multi-purpose trail so you will see walkers, runners, and bicycles along the trail.

I’ve only done the 1 mile loop while Lisa and the running group run the Greenway portion towards Stones River Battlefield as an out and back run.
